- Production of antioxidant soft gel based on natural pomegranate product with cancer preventive properties
The production of antioxidant soft gel based on natural pomegranate product with cancer preventive properties has begun in recent months thanks to the efforts of a group of hardworking technologists at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.
Engineer Mohammad Taghi Mirahmadi, a top technologist at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, said in a conversation with Webda about this innovative move: Given that ellagic acid extracted from pomegranate fruit is considered one of the strongest natural antioxidants in the world, and in addition to its cancer preventive properties, it also has significant effects in cases such as strengthening female hormones, reducing common symptoms of menopause, improving PCOS symptoms, and brightening skin and hair, Pars Tekrokh Company, which was established based on major medicinal plants in the Science and Health Park complex of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, has begun to produce important ellagic acid extracted from pomegranate, which is one of the strongest natural antioxidants and can have very effective properties in cancer prevention.
Regarding the history of his activities in the Science and Health Park of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, he also said: “I have been working in the Science and Health Park of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences for several years, and before joining Mashhad University, I was a founder, board member or manager, and a small member of several valuable production units in the province. Also, one of the companies that was established was Nasr Fariman Pharmaceutical Company, where I also worked as a small member, and the crown jewel of our work is Mashhad Milk Powder Industries, which is considered the first and largest baby milk factory in Iran. With the grace of God and the support of our family, including Shadrvan Dr. Abdolali Kharazmi and my wife Shadrvan, Ms. Nastaran Razmjo, Director of the Midwifery Department of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, and other loved ones, we established it and we are happy that even after our transfer, it is considered one of the best and most valuable units in Iran and perhaps the region.
Engineer Mir Ahmadi also said about the activities of Pars Tek Rokh Pharmaceutical Company, which is currently operating in the Science and Health Park of the University of Medical Sciences: This company has a health-oriented perspective and we launched this company with mainly natural herbal medicines.
Referring to the activities of about five different production lines at the university’s Bu Ali Research Institute, the top technologist of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said: We launched the first soft gel line in the East of Iran at the Bu Ali Research Institute, in this line, considering that the Rosehip Cancer Prevention Association is related to Pars Tek Rokh Company and the main reason for the foundation of the association was my wife Shadrav, who unfortunately I lost due to cancer. Before he died, he asked me to do something instead of the usual expenses to preserve rosehips for their families, so one of the departments we work in the Cancer Prevention Association is the prevention department, which has been divided into three smaller departments, education and strengthening the immune system, and we have also recently added the environmental branch as prevention.
Engineer Mir Ahmadi noted: In relation to strengthening the immune system, we worked on several strong natural antioxidants and finally extracted ellagic acid from pomegranate. Because ellagic acid is considered one of the strongest natural antioxidants in the world, and in addition to its cancer preventive properties that are very effective, it has significant effects in cases such as boosting female hormones, reducing common symptoms of menopause, improving symptoms of PCOS, and brightening skin and hair. In addition, we produced ellagic acid for the first time in the form of a soft gel, which is slow-release and is a pure and unique product.
He also said: In addition, we also worked on iron to be able to provide iron deficiency in women, so we presented iron soft gel, the advantages of which are slow release, no digestive problems, and good iron absorption. Another technological measure we have taken in the soft gel production line is research on several other antioxidants such as lycopene and black seed, which we succeeded in producing in the form of a soft gel.
Engineer Mir Ahmadi also said about Pars Tek Rokh Company’s other product lines: Our other product line is the semi-solids production line, which we can produce all kinds of creams, gels and pastes, and in addition to general products in the field of beauty and skin health, we are proud to produce honey gel. This gel is very effective in treating bedsores, and for the first time, friends and experts at the Faculty of Pharmacy have worked on postbiotic cream, and fortunately, it has reached mass production.
He added: Our other product line is the liquids production line, which has three different lines of oral liquids, topical liquids and single-dose vials, and its examples are Omega 3 for oral liquids, menthol herbal painkillers, and insect repellents and antiseptics. Regarding single-dose vials, we have an Alzheimer’s prevention project on the agenda, other supplements such as L-carnitine and… even some disposable cosmetic creams are included in that line.
This top technologist mentioned the pressurized spray production line as another production line and added: “We succeeded in registering a national patent for a product called herbal anti-lice foam. Given that this herbal foam causes minimal damage to the hair and skin, and lice cannot develop resistance to it; because lice have become resistant to some chemical anti-lice shampoos, including permethrin shampoo. This product, with one application for 15 minutes, eliminates lice and nits in more than 90 percent of cases, and producing this product is one of the honors that we achieved with the grace of God and the support of our colleagues.”
Engineer Mir Ahmadi concluded by reminding: Iran is a land of opportunities and we should use all these blessings that God has given us. We have one percent of the world’s population and 12 percent of the world’s resources, so by working together and effectively using resources, we can have a prosperous Iran.
